Auction and Fundraiser Completed. Thank you for supporting our need to help Japan!

As your all aware Japan has had some major natural disaster catastrophes that has immobolized the country. Now from the earthquake to a tsunami was surreal enough they are facing a major nuclear meltdown on 3 reactors and recently on their southern side of the island had a volcano erupt. An even more sad part of this if that is possible is the death toll rising and next will be a food crisis and disease! So as we all know it they are in extreme need of help!

Money raised is going to an Animal Rescue Organization working in Japan. Currently we are seeking out an SPCA that is in the ground zero of the worst area.

Being an artist I am always looking for ways to create help for a positive change and when I heard about this matter I knew my art could raise some money. Then my good friend another local artist Pete Mander called me up and said he wanted to help out this situation and our wheels started to turn. When the passion for change happened in our minds we were able to get other artist on board and I called up a few more local artist and this amazing action occurred! All artist have similarities in our lives like supporting Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and animals. We have decided to have an online selling, auction - fundraiser for the human and nonhuman animals of Japan. We are all aware that there will be organizations going to Japan to help the people and the animals in this desparate time of need and we want to support them!
Please make all inquiries to ArtistfortheOcean@gmail.com and when the payment is received via PAYPAL the artist will personally mail it to you. Let's help Japan!

IFAW: Not With My Tax Money!

Well every year starting in March the Canadian government's propaghandi comes out and brainwashes the canadian citizens about the seal hunt of gray seals and harp seals. To people who do not support this seal hunt consider it a Seal Slaughter! Back in the 90's this slaughter was shut down by animal rights activists and then after the pressure softened the government geared it back into operation. They found a market for the fur and away they went to the killing ice flows of the eastern coastline of Canada. After this seals were being killed by the thousands. By 2009 the Canadian government was up to about 300, 000 seals slated to be skinned on the ice leaving their bodies scattered in red splatter marks over the white snow. Then the European Union banned all seal products that really pissed off the Harper government and forced them to use our tax money for this slaughter and now to fight the European Union which they did not win. 2011 they have put out a qouta of 60,000 seals to be slaughtered.

March 12th - International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) - hit the streets of Toronto at the Dundas Square downtown. They brought their enormous seal mascot for this event and a ton of literature. People held signs and got petitions signed. Scarfs and buttons were handed out and a ton of conversation buzzed around the whole event from support to nonsupport. Overall majority does not care for their money to support this slaughter and want it to end.

March 21st - IFAW supporters went out on the streets of Toronto in the College and University street area near the Toronto University. A lot of students passing by with the subway entrances nearby and some were taking the information while others ignored and a couple actually fought for it. One student says "they do it becuase their overpopulated and if we didn't kill them there would be too many". While the reply was "How about the ice flows not forming in the last couple of years not allowing them to have their babies to populate?" and there was no reply.

When the matter hits home it only makes more disgruntled conversations to amazing support and awakening at times. No matter what the reactions are its best to let people know the facts and how the government covers it up and uses tax money. A police officer showed up on the scene and stated "I know all about the seal hunt and I think the tax money can be better used to help create yearly jobs instead of a few hundred people in a short time."

I myself like to approach each matter differently depending on who I speak with and one I liked today was Ìf you don`t like the Harper government then boycott the Seal Slaughter and piss them off!` Some people would smirk, some would ignore me and others came up and asked why. Each issue and each person thinks and reacts differently - we have to find what makes them tick and share them the information in a manner that affects their thoughts alone.

Just on another quick note seals are being slaughtered in Nambia as well! This matter needs to stop and you can also check it out here: https://sites.google.com/site/thesealsofnam/
