Ocean Murals In London

It was August 6th, 2013 when I arrived in London, Ontario to help Artfusion London with an amazing vision their founder Ryan Mahy envisioned. It was on a wall near his home that is approximately 81ft in height and 160ft in length. This space was and now is the home to the "Stephen Watson Memorial Mural #SWMM". This mural will replicate the last painting Stephen Watson completed before he passed August 29th, 2011 called "Octopus Garden 2".

That day I arrived I was given the job to outline as much of the mural as I could in the time I had. This ended up being the largest "FREE=HAND" art I have ever accomplished. At first it felt overwhelming just looking at this enormous canvas in front of me. Then after Ryan broke it down for me on how to accomplish the freehand work with a spray paint can I was hooked!

I was there for two days and by the time I left on August 7th other artists and volunteers were already rolling canned paint into the lines I sprayed. By the time I was complete this day I had finished most of the giant octopus' body and the head was formed. By the time paint was being put into it the mural was starting to be visualized by all passerby.

I found myself continuing to travel from Toronto to London on every day I had off to help the other artists to get this mural completed by August 30th only 24 days total. Ryan Mahy was an inspiration having seen him as the visionary and backbone of the mural with his daily efforts and most over nighters!

If you like or even love this incredible art mural work and would be interested in helping finish the back of the building with another one of Stephen Watson's paintings called "Playtime" then go to Artfusion's Indiegogo Fundraiser :)

I compiled some photos and videos of the work and artists that were a part of such a beautiful task from the moments I was in attendance.

Check the video out:

Then Ryan Mahy came to me on the second day of the Block Party on August 30th, 2013 and asked me if I would like a wall space to create a mural of my own! This was a fabulous moment of my life that was like setting me free from the nest! The wall space was completely in public view and was approximately 8ft in height and 22ft in length. Check out the video I created of my first ever mural being completed.

If you would like to see these murals then go to downtown London, Ontario, Canada and the parking lot they are a part of is roughly between 197 - 199 Dundas Street.

If you do see them then Snap a photo and on Twitter use @ArtistforOcean and on Instagram use @ArtistfortheOcean to tag me!

World Ocean Day Book Release!

World Ocean Day Book Release!

JUNE 8th - 2013

21st Century - The Age of Protection

Not only a voice for the ocean;
This is a journey of an artist”

Six long years in the making and the book is finally complete!

30 Days before the World Ocean Day Ebook Launch an Indiegogo Campaign was launched to "Help" this new very informative book that gives Marine Life a Voice become a paperback book to be donated to schools and libraries. This book was compiled of facts of marine life slaughters, government actions and non-action, and organizations from grass-roots up doing great work.

'EDUCATE to ACTIVATE' Help '21st Century - The Age Of Protection' Into Schools by joining the campaign

There is an Ocean Crisis that needs to be truthfully told &
Why Not through a Visual Voice!

This book has created a visual voice for thousands of marine life calls for action! From sharks, whales, seals, dolphins, turtles, and mass communities by overfishing. These lives have a story that need to be told in order to stop the attrocities inflicted upon them.

A lot of great action from Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has been documented on a few paintings along with the immediate story on how their actions inspired me to paint them with the whales and seals - Chapters 2 & 3 & 6

Summary from the Book:

"We along with several other species, are being faced with the possibility of extinction.  As a result of extensive research, I have drawn the conclusion that sometime within the past 50-60 years, 90% of everything living on the planet has been affected in a devastating manner.  As an example, currently only 10% of wild lions, sharks and coral reefs remain.  Deforestation is becoming as commonplace as climate change.  One thing is for certain:  Homo sapiens are directly responsible for these atrocities against nature.

A crucial and urgent choice faces us:  we can either continue on this path of extinction or immediately start to protect what we love - LIFE!

I wrote this book in response to the issue of shark finning, initially raised over six years ago with the release of the film, Sharkwater.  At that time, my paintings reflected current issues affecting the world’s oceans, and how we, as a species, were literally transforming this biosphere into a world of waste and consumption.  I also became better acquainted with the conservation actions of Sea Shepherd and their Antarctic whaling campaigns.

These issues were really brought home for me, when I became personally involved in the first land campaign to bring awareness to the dolphin and whale slaughter happening annually in Taiji, Japan; witnessed the collapse of the seal pelt industry as a result of world exposure of the Canadian harp seal slaughter, and finally saw legal protections enacted for sea turtles.

I have recreated these issues on canvas, providing a face and voice to help one understand the issues as described in the following chapters."

I believe in this book after putting so much time in researching and documenting over the years. This journey showed me what passion truly is and how compassion is such a powerful feeling.

Let's give the children the tools of "Truth" so this world has a chance to speak and positive changes can occur.

21st Century - The Age of Protection

Chapter Paintings & Description

This painting is one of my awareness paintings that speaks visually for the sharks. Sharks are being killed by the millions annually, 90 million actually for their fins alone. That means the fins are removed and the living body is thrown back to the ocean to lessen the weight on the ship to allow more fins to be stored. These fins are then sold mostly to Hong Kong, China and around the world to Chinese medicine shops and restaurants. Shark fin soup is the main item for the fins and can be sold between $25 and $150 a bowl.

This is the 1st Chapter of my book "21st Century - The Age of Protection"

This is one of my awareness paintings that I painted the visual voice for the whales. The whales are suppose to be protected from a International Moratorium put in place in 1986 by the International Whaling Commission. The Japanese government fails to abide by this protection and uses the word "Research" as their reasons to travel tens of thousands of miles to kill 1035 whales annually. This painting also speaks about the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society that upholds international law to stop the killing of the whales and protect them in the whale sanctuary.

This is the Second Chapter of my book "21st Century - The Age of Protection"

The story behind this painting is regarding the 2008 global impacts on harp seals in Canada. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society had a ship of the Canadian coast in International waters witnessing the seal hunt. Later the European Union banned the purchase of Harp Seal Fur from Canada.

This is the 3rd Chapter of my book "21st Century - The Age of Protection"

This is one of my awareness paintings for the Dolphins. It gives one a visual voice to share the struggles that dolphins that pass by a small town in Japan called Taiji have to endure. With 23,000 dolphins killed annually in Japan's waters and the removal of young female orphan dolphins into entertainment industries this story must be told!

This is the 4th Chapter of my book "21st Century - The Age of Protection"

This is one of my awareness paintings that gives a visual voice for the Sea Turtles. There are only seven species of sea turtles and all of them are either endangered or threatened or both. They have so much going against them naturally with survival however when adding in the human species actions the turtles survival is grave. Many good action is happening very slowly but it is happening.

This painting is the 5th Chapter of my book "21st Century - The Age of Protection"

This is one of my awareness paintings that give a visual story of Overfishing and the plight of the Blue Fin Tuna. This action is depleting the ocean of millions of species and causing such an unsustainable action that will ultimately cause the collapse of the commercial fishing industry globally. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Ships are painted into this canvas and story due to their campaign in 2010 called Blue Rage where they set out to stop poaching of the Blue Fin Tuna.

This is the 6th Chapter of my book "21st Century - The Age of Protection"

"Earth Warriors Award" Goes To!

"EARTH WARRIORS AWARD" GOES TO!

The nominations came in and choices have been made to receive such a gratious award for such compassionate individuals!

Earth Warriors Award was created by Bob Timmons, "Artist for the Ocean" because he has seen such great actions from people, businesses, and grassroots organizations that he feels need to receive an honour of recognition. This recognition can get their story out past the walls in their area and hopefully create more opportunities as people learn about the journey they are on and how they may be able to help and/or support. This month has 4 "Earth Warriors Awards" being sent out to very much deserving individuals for their incredible work for life on this planet.

We created different categories to Award a Celebrity Activist, Business, Personal Activist, and a Charitable Organization for this month of February. This gives everyone more stories to read and learn about and also more ways to help.

The categories are:

1. Celebrity Activist: This category is for an activist that is world reknowned for their years of effort and accomplishments. This does not mean they make millions doing movies for entertainment purposes however may have completed some documentaries that have helped the journey they are on to educate the public. This category's "Earth Warriors Award" goes to RIC O'BARRY!

Ric O'Barry has done some amazing action for the Dolphin Species and the ocean itself. He has been traveling the world to help any dolphin in distress ever since his co-host "Cathy" from the show "Flipper" died and made him realize they did not belong in captivity. At this point Ric opened his eyes and mind to shut the marine animal exploitation industry down. Ric is involved with Earth Island Institute and Ric O'Barry's The Dolphin Project.

In 2009, the oscar winning documentary "The Cove" hit the theatres showcasing Ric and his efforts in the small village of Japan named Taiji. In Taiji they have a "Drive - Fishery" action where they go out miles into the ocean and find dolphins in a feeding area and drive them back using an imaginary wall of sound. Here is when the action of picking desirable dolphins and the rest of the "Family Pod" are killed for food. This is something not only Ric wants to see an end to but the entire activist world.

We are honoured to give Ric O'Barry an "Earth Warriors Award" for his past, present, and future efforts for the Dolphins and the Ocean.

Follow Ric O'Barry and Share this Award with him on his Twitter Accounts: Ric O'Barry, The Dolphin Project, and Earth Island Institute!

2. Personal Activist: This category is for an activist that may not be well-known but has done great efforts that have been noticeable. This category's "Earth Warriors Award" goes to PHIL DEMERS!

Phil Demers was the first whistle blower of the infamous "Marineland Canada" in Niagara Falls. He had worked at this establishment for over a decade and witnessed some odd events but it wasn't until 2012 that he witnessed cruelty beyond belief. It was off season time when Phil witnessed skin peeling off dolphins and the eyes of many of the marine animals were bad and/or become blind. This horrific situation was enough to push Phil to quit his position as a marine animal trainer and that is when he told his story to the Toronto Star.
The Toronto Star created an amazing buzz globally and especially locally to Ontario regarding animal abuse that was happening behind the walls of Marineland Canada. Phil's actions started the ball rolling and more employees were quitting and coming forward to explain their experiences and witnessing of cruelty that they felt needed to be exposed and stopped to protect the animals.

This situation is still going on and Marineland is starting to sue many people they believe have participated in the exposure including Phil Demers. Phil is being sued for 1.5 million dollars and has set up an Indiegogo fundraiser to help with lawyer costs to fight this corporation called "Marineland Canada" that has been mistreating and hiding animal abuse for decades.

We are honoured to give Phil Demers an "Earth Warriors Award" for his past, present, and future efforts for the exposure and possibly shutdown of Marineland Canada and awakening minds about Captivity.

Follow and Share this article with Phil Demers on his Twiiter account!

3. Charitable Organization: This category is for an low-key organization that does great things! Its an organization that only gets donations to keep running. This category's "Earth Warriors Award" goes to Rose Gergely founder of Refuge RR for Horses!

Rose Gergely started Refuge RR for Horses a couple decades ago with only horses and in Quebec, Canada. Within the first couple years Rose moved the Refuge to Alexandria, Ontario where she not only takes in abused and neglected horses but she has increased her animal residency to 480 animals ranging from mice, hamsters, cats, dogs, goats, ducks, cows, chickens, pigs, all the way to 80 horses.

Rose is a powerful lady with energy to save save save animals in distress. She has extremely limited space now but continues to utilize her network to place animals in adoption and/or foster homes. She cannot turn away an animal that is in need of medical help since all the animals in the refuge have come from abusive natured situations. Rose single-handed feeds these animals on a daily basis while her small dedicated team of volunteers create ideas to continue raising money to help feed all these animals.

Recently the refuge completed a 2 year challenge they had regarding no water. Not one animal felt the stress of no water available on the property since Rose and her team continued to work hard to pay for truckloads of water on a weekly basis that could cost up to $1200 a week in a hot summer. This challenge was completed in December 2012 when a drilling company struck water on the property and set up a slow trickle system to allow the well to last forever!

Rose does not get a break, a vacation, or time alone with 480 animals however today we are honoured to give Rose Gergely the "Earth Warriors Award" for her past, present, and future actions to give a safe haven to abused animals of all types and sizes!

Follow Refuge RR for Horses on Facebook and share this article.

4. Non-Profit Organization: This category is similar to the Charitable Organization. This category's "Earth Warriors Award" goes to PROMAR & Volunteers!

PROMAR is from Spain and stands for "PROGRAMA EN DEFENSEA DE LA MARINA". This non-profit has been noticed recently for their efforts with a baby dolphin named Marcos that was found abandoned, alone, and in need of help last August 2012 near Roquetas de Mar on the Southern part of Spain. This dolphin was of the Black Stripe dolphin species a palegic animal that never sees land.

PROMAR and their volunteers worked around the clock to do what they can to help make Marcos stay as comfortable, loving, and safe as they possibly could. Ric O'Barry was involved at the beginning of the rescue helping the volunteers set up Marcos seapen. The efforts went on for months and sadly earlier this month Marcos passed away.

We are honoured to give PROMAR & Volunteers an "Earth Warriors Award" for his past, present, and future efforts for their help not only with Marcos the Striped Dolphin but with other marine life rehab & release programs.

You can read an article in more details about Marcos' Story here: MARCOS

----

All of these amazing Earth Warriors will receive their award in the next week or so! Please share the word and get involved for the month of March nominations soon to be launched at the Facebook page "ARTIST for the OCEAN".

Honouring these 4 Earth Warriors with their amazing efforts: Ric O'Barry, Phil Demers,
Rose Gergely of Refuge RR for Horses, & PROMAR and Volunteers.

Suffering Seagull, Newfoundland MP says use a Hakapik

It all started only a few days ago at the St. Patrick's Church in St. John's, Newfoundland. A seagull somehow landed and impaled one wing onto a sharp spike like bar and was not able to free him/herself. The severity of the wound is unknown since the seagull is still on the roof and has had no personal contact.

The story of this seagull hit the CBS News after a preist of the church was left with no one to help. He had called the local SPCA, Fire Department, Wildlife Centre, and Local Government which they all stated it was a Federal Issue. The preist had no choice but to go to the media for help.

Local concerned citizens wanted to use a regular ladder but if you see the video it is a very steep and high roof that the preist had to decline due to someone getting hurt and suing the church.

A cry for help from a Facebook user, Melanie Blake, to her friend Lisa Chansky of Durham, N. Carolina got the ball rolling. Lisa notified  me and others of the situation and I gathered my information to post for global help and help I did receive! Many people from across Canada and the world for that matter got on board and started to phone the church, the Wildlife Centre, the SPCA, and the Fire Department. Only the Fire Department answered stating they were waiting on the SPCA and the Wildlife Centre to help.

Scott Andrews tweeted this reply "gulls are like seals.. no one would miss one.. get a hakapik and put it out of his misery."

Further to the support we came upon Twitter and a local Politician named Scott Andrews, a local Liberal MP. A concerned Canadian from P.E.I tweeted him asking for his help regarding a suffering seagull. His reply was nothing but appropriate for this sensitive matter. Scott Andrews tweeted this reply "gulls are like seals.. no one would miss one.. get a hakapik and put it out of his misery." Another concerned Canadian from Montreal replied "I would miss them. You need to learn compassion. "MP".

After I received word regarding the MP Andrews Tweet I decided to go further and question Bob Rae the Liberal Party leader what he thought about this public statement and how it fit with the Liberal Values. I am learing fast how powerful twitter is and how many upstanding public figures forget that when words are put out they cannot take them back.

The morning of August 5th many individuals posted to the SPCA St.John's page and a reply was given "The SPCA has not been involved in this situation but I am making inquiries into this and we'll post when we have more info." The Church preist phoned them on Thursday August 2nd making this the 3rd day the seagull has been suffering and possibly bleeding to death. With extreme heat temperatures this week and on a metal roof this must be intolerable for any living being.

Now we wait for news from the SPCA's move on this matter. Please check my Facebook page for any updates at Artist for the Ocean

Forest Activists United Need Help

Forest Activists United have teamed up with local Conservationist in Nigeria to help stop deforestation for Cocoa & Palm Oil Plantations. Please help by taking the three step actions at the bottom. Together we can put pressure on this situation and save the forest between Cameroon & Nigeria saving the animal species that are considered unique and endangered.

 1. Invite People To This Event for more Petition Signers and Supporters of Forest Activists United Action!  On Facebook https://www.facebook.com/events/126943454112809/

2. Ask to Join "FOREST ACTIVISTS UNITED" to join the FIGHT with Locals of Cameroon & Nigeria as well as US, the NETIZENS who Care! https://www.facebook.com/groups/ForestActivistsUnited/

 __________________

3. Please SIGN & SHARE the following TWO Petitions:

PETITION ONE: To be delivered to: His Excellency, Liyel Imoke, Governor of Cross River State

Save the Cross River National Park in Nigeria
http://www.avaaz.org/en/petition/Save_the_Cross_River_National_Park_in_Nigeria/?fhyvFab&pv=4

Why this is important:

A cocoa plantation of 7241 hectares is being built in the Cross River South Forest Reserve and the support zone of the Oban Division of the Cross River National Park. The region is home to many endangered primates including the Nigerian-Cameroon chimpanzee, which is listed as the most endangered of all chimpanzee subspecies. The cocoa project violates the Cross River State of Nigeria Forest Laws and Regulations CAP 55, that prohibits farming activies in forest reserves; The National Park Service Act No. 46, which protects the National Park and prohibits forest-based commercial activities within the delineated National Park support zones as well as the buffer zones; It is contrary to the interests of the indigenous communities and inimical to the peaceful co-existence of the members of the neighbouring communities; and completely in conflict with the contemporary global initiatives on Climate Change, We believe that the concession was an error and are reaching out to Cross River State officials to issue an Order of Revocation of this land title that was given to the cocoa plantation.
 ___________________

PETITION TWO: ACTION ALERT: KORUP NATIONAL PARK, CAMEROON.

Please sign and share. There is some urgency to this which is why we're only asking 300 names. The RSPO is considering all complaints from environmental groups and scientists worldwide. The area is a biodiversity hotspot and must be protected!

To be delivered to: Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil Say no to a palm oil plantation in the African rainforest
http://www.avaaz.org/en/petition/Say_no_to_a_palm_oil_plantation_in_the_African_rainforest/?chyvFab

Why this is important:

Herakles Farms USA and its subsidiary SGSOC Cameroon have plans to build a 70,000 hectare palm oil plantation in the heart of Africa's rainforest. Researchers and scientists worldwide have condemned the location of this plantation as it sits in the middle of two national parks and two protected forest areas. surrounded by Korup national park and the Rumpi Hills Forest Reserve in Toko and and the protected areas of Bakossi Natioal Park and Bayang-mbo Wildlife Sanctuary is a global biodiversity hotspot and habitat for several critically endangered primates including the endemic Drill, Red Colobus and the Nigerian-Cameroon chimpanzee. The plantation will cut off their travel routes as they migrate from one forested region to another in search of food. Cameroonian NGO, Struggle to Economize Future Environment ( SEFE ) has issued an urgent call for worldwide activists support against this oil palm plantation. They have advised of the catastrophic consequences to the biodiversity and natural environment to the region if the plantation goes ahead. The RSPO has received ten complaints against this plantation from environmental groups worldwide and decide on the matter in the summer of 2012 so add your voice here!

Fundraiser to get "WATER for ANIMALS"

It's a precious resource that not only we need, our children need but life around the world desperately needs, its WATER. Water has become an issue at Horse RR Refuge since their WELL has completely gone DRY and with over 700 animals it now has to be trucked in, and this is expensive.

Refuge RR for Horses in Alexandria, Ontario is located on the Ontario-Quebec border and not only has Horses but there are over 700 animals at this location! This is the largest Farm Animal Sanctuary in Canada but with no Government Funding. From horses, cats, dogs, goats, chickens, ducks, pigs, to even more animals that are saved and rescued daily!"

There is only "ONE LADY" who runs the show and she is an Angel to these animals!

 Rose at RR Refuge

Rose is her name and on a daily basis she is not only taking care of her own sanctuary of animals but she receives phone calls daily to take in abused, sick, or displaced animals in need of help! Rose will not turn down any animals! She then brings them to be Vet Checked and after they are healthy she will adopt them out by signing an adoption contract stating that if you can no longer care for the animal it comes back to the sanctuary!

Recently Rose has taken in 27 unwanted cats that were at a "So-Called" Cat Rescue, she heard about them and with no hesitation she took them into her happy sanctuary. She had them vet checked and noticed one of the cats had a hole in its stomach with maggots coming out. She rushed her to the emergency and had the cat worked on so she can be healthy again. Then the following day she rescued two starving dogs found on a highway. All of this was just this past weekend.

Now the Refuge RR for Horses is run on Rose's energy and compassion but we all know that cannot feed and care for these animals. DONATIONS is the only income for this incredible sanctuary and WATER in the WELL is DRY! Rose has been trucking water into the property for months now while trying to locate a new plot of land that is affordable and can house all the animals. "HUNTER to the OCEAN" Fundraiser SUCCESS

A fundraiser I started over a month ago lasted only 7 days when 40 people came from all over the world to help make one young man's dream come true!

In 7 days we raised $1027USD to help create a way for Hunter Shaffer, 14 years old and in a wheelchair all of his life, make it to the ocean. Hunter fights for the ocean & animals daily online and through his personal life working at a local conservation area. Hunter has had over 400 bones break in his 14 years of life and knows first hand what pain is all about so he now lives a vegan lifestyle and has taken on a voice for the voiceless.

Hunter inspired me to create this fundraiser and I am so happy to say "It was a SUCCESS!" Hunter and his family took this opportunity as a family road trip to Jupiter, Florida. Jimi B. Long set up the event at the Florida destination and has only spoke to Hunter over the internet for months. So they too were able to meet for the first time and Jimi is in a wheelchair as well and knew first hand how he could help make this day something to be remembered for the rest of Hunter's life! Now we have photos to share!

Hunter Shaffer with Michael Worden, Jimi B. Long, Erik Brush, Danny.

This is the status that Hunter put out only 11 hours ago from his resort in Florida:

"Snorkeling at coral cove was great, and my first time in the open ocean! Was also the first time I had seen a fish in the wild while I was in the water. My biggest thanks to Danny, Michael Worden, Jimi B. Long, Erik Brush, Susan Mabe, Jim Shaffer, and most of all Bob Timmons for helping me to get to Florida in the first place! A big thanks as well to Amber Foster for watching the pets back at home so I could come here!

I am now VERY comfortable with the ocean, and snorkeled again today at a different location. Snorkeled 300FT out right over a coral reef and saw Sea Urchins, Crabs, Puffer fish, Appears to be Bermuda Chub, a large Yellow Fish that I was unable to identify *Thought it was a Trumpetfish, but looks nothing alike!*

Erik, Jimi and I also went to the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, we saw a variety of rescued turtles and sat for a 30 minute educational interactive course about sea turtles. *This was also the spot where I beat Jimi in 2 wheelchair races, no need to brag about that, videos will come soon! ;)*

All in all, I could not have asked for a better time in Florida and saw a variety of life! A huge thank you to ALL who donated to the Hunter To The ocean campaign! Without your help, I would not have been NEAR the ocean, let alone 100 meters out over a reef! Considering going out early in the morning tomorrow to swim with the Bull Sharks when they migrate into the shallows to feed as the sun rises. Thank you, everyone!" ~ Hunter Shaffer

Ocean Wish: "Hunter to the Ocean"

A young man bound to a wheel chair most of his life and absolutely loved on Facebook for fighting for ocean animals has shocked me even more when I heard he has never swam in the ocean.

Hunter Shaffer is this young man and when I first seen him popping up on threads regarding animals I felt this was a man of well informed knowledge. The words and facts this young man was putting out showed he was definitely aware and has done his research on the matters. What we didn't know was his age. At this time I believe Hunter was only 12 years old.

We learned about his disability to walk but also learned about his great ability to fight! On March 13th, 2012 Hunter put this as his status on Facebook:

"I can stand up by myself again..

They said I would die at birth, and encouraged my mother to have an abortion.... I would be hooked up to life supporters for my entire existence. Weak and frail? Nope. Dead? Nope..

Four hundred broken bones later, I'm alive and am out to protect the worlds inhabitants, with one primary mission: Conserving the biodiversity within this fragile world, that are perhaps as fragile as my bones.

Defying all odds, I'm here to help the animals.. And THIS is my journey.

Get off of your excuses, get out and make a change.. No, BE the change you WANT to see in the world. You CAN do it.. I did."

This inspired so many people that already knew who he was and now I am taking this young man's inspiration and sharing it with all of you!

Just searching around his threads and how Hunter comments truly inspires me to think we can make a change on this world and Hunter at his now age of 14 years old is proving this true! Hunter fights for animals and has taken on a Vegan Lifestyle to show his true stand for all animals.

Hunter commented on one thread regarding diving in Florida by saying He has never swam in the Ocean. This is when I took my skills, time and energy to put out an online fund-raiser to make his wish come true! "HUNTER to the OCEAN" is what I have created and within 21 hours we raised over $670 Canadian Dollars to make it happen! The money keeps coming in and its definitely not local! We have a global support team donating from Canada, Portugal, Sweden, USA, Ireland, UK, Norway, and Germany so far! We want to reach $2500 so we can help the whole family make it to an Ocean Shore of Hunter's choice. They will have to rent a Wheelchair accessible van to make this happen and we definitely look forward to seeing Hunter with Sea Salt Tears!

Please help get "HUNTER to the OCEAN" by going to the following link and watch the Thermometer Rise!

Animals Asia Founder Jill Robinson in Toronto

I rushed after work to get over to this unique visit from a lady who has dedicated her last 18 years to help Moon Bears in China and recently Vietnam as well. Jill Robinson the founder of Animals Asia joined us in the Lula Lounge of Toronto to speak about the lives of these gorgeous bears in what they call "Bear Farms".

Within these farms these bears are caged so tightly they cannot move around much and the floor is bars which makes their feet deform over the many and some decades of time being caged. The farmers milk them for their bile to use in ancient chinese medicine. This leaves the wound open and always infected that in time kills these animals but sadly not soon enough since they have to be tortured for years if not decades.

Jo-Anne McArthur was also there being the amazing photographer as well as she had some gorgeous Moon Bear photos up for sale with all proceeds going to Animals Asia.

Please watch the whole talk Jill Robinson gave us in four parts.

Ric O'Barry Gets ECO HERO Award

I was honoured to meet Ric O'Barry for the fourth time this year being the third Country too! We have been talking since the beginning of 2010 and met for the first time this past January when I was in Japan, then again in Miami at the Seaquarium for a protest, and finally twice in Canada for two separate awards!

This award was for being an ECO HERO! Please watch the 9min award ceremony with Ric Speaking. At the end he plugs that he normally comes to Canada to protest Marineland and further states not to buy a ticket to any dolphin shows. Period.

Hanging out at the After Party!

"Corporation" The "Anti-Christ"

As we continue to count the days of the prophecy's and wonder when is the person, the anit-christ, going to come and create havoc on the world and its inhabitants. We have been waiting and searching for anything to reveal itself - him/her - and so we could be ready and prepared.

Yesterday I was speaking with a very well informed individual who said something that triggered my mind to ask him to repeat. He said the Anti-Christ is not a person that we have been perceived to believe and look for but now that a Corporation is considered a person look at the evil destructive manner it reaps on our world - the people - the animals - the environment! This opened my mind up and it became untwisted.

The thoughts I am having now come together to really let me see this new idea - Corporation = Anti-Christ - that has been written about over thousands of years. I see the evil that Corporations are doing from the factory farms to the animal testing to the pollution  and starving people! The slavery of sweatshops in asia to the animal slavery in food production and pharmaceuticals. The evil doing is unimaginable yet it is happening.

I want to share you a great video from Keith Olberman that speaks of the demands of the Occupy Wall Street and listen for this:

“They [corporations] have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless nonhuman animals, and actively hide these practices.”

There will be and are a lot of Uprising happening around the world and especially across the United States of America! Go here and see what city is closest to you or how you can start your own city become awakened!  Occupy Together Meetups in 747 Cities so far! OCCUPY TOGETHER

The First Three Days for Occupy Toronto Market Exchange(Schedule)

by Occupy Toronto Market Exchange on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 7:29pm
The inherent nature of a movement like this does not strictly allow organizers such as myself much flexibility in the manifestation of a schedule. The first three days are what will dictate the scheduling for the rest of this event. That being said it is crucial that within these first three days we are using these scheduled slots for General Assembly to put together the most intellectual individuals to construct our future as OccupyToronto. We will not march until the TSX is open and in business on Monday, which gives us the weekend to have the group on slow boil while we determine the best course of action.

Laptops and Cameras are essential to the indepedent coverage of OccupyToronto.

We also need:

PO BOX
Power Bars + Extension Cables / Generator
Blankets + Pillows
Dried Goods / Water Source
